Huntsville’s natural setting supports a vibrant culture of outdoor recreation. To guide the future of these spaces, the Town is developing a Parks and Trails Master Plan to help direct future improvements to and investments in our community's green spaces over the next 10 to 15 years.
The Plan will help ensure that Huntsville’s network of parks, trails, and open spaces continues to meet the needs of a growing population — including permanent residents, seasonal residents, and visitors — while supporting the Town’s mission of delivering quality services through responsible decision-making.
The Plan will build from recent community plans such as the 2022 Community Services Master Plan and 2021 Waterfront Development Strategy. It will consider future population growth, evolving park and trail use trends, and the challenges and opportunities related to climate change, environmental protection, and equity across the municipality.
Thank you for your feedback!
Our first round of public consultation has come to a close. Thank you to all the members of the community who participated in our open house events and completed our survey. Your input will shape the priorities and the investment in our parks for years to come.
